Thu, Jul 30th, 2015 INTO THE STUDIO
This has been a full ceramic workshop with diverse people, great ideas and lots of experimenting.
First, our crew of aspiring clay makers hale from as far away as Finland, Australia and Georgia (the country)...to the U.S. Northeast region and Brussels.
We have a wide variety of participants. Some are gifting themselves a week of intensive pottery making that their lives don't allow, while others are on an inner journey of opening and exploration and are brand new to the world of ceramics and the art of saggar firing.
Each student brings her own vision and idea to the art of saggar firing and each person comes to his yoga mat with a different intention and need.
We meet at 7:30am on the green to sit outdoors at our yoga mat. After an hour of stretching and breathing, we meet again at the wheels in the ceramic studio and the work tables at 10am. Our lunch break comes in the form of a 3-course meal; there is an an afternoon siesta where you can rest, walk or take time to get to know your neighbor. Then it's back in the clay studio at 4pm and make pottery as late as 8 pm.
